I’ve always thought the maybe one day I’d have a go at surfing the Severn bore. Seeing as it’s not too far away from Evesham. Plus with claims of the Severn having the second highest tidal range in the world it seemed like something special so close to home should not be ignored. But now I’ve seen this Ripcurl video from somewhere in Indonesia I’m not sure I have the same rose tinted view of the Severn bore.

This trailer is amazing – it makes me miss snow boarding so much. Although I can’t complain too much we did get at least a foot of snow this Christmas here in Evesham, Worcestershire and I did manage to get the plastic sledge out for a couple of runs! Turn the volume up and ge this one full screen.

For my website I initially tried out a couple of the free WordPress themes, but nothing was quite hitting the mark. A colleague of mine had recently been to FOWD (the Future Of Web Design) in new York and had seen a presentation by Nick La, a Toronto based illustrator and web designer. Nick creates beautiful premium WordPress themes that can be bought for a very reasonable price from the Themify website. With your purchase you not only get a nice theme, but you also get support via the member area on the site. I must admit I’ve been really impressed with the help I’ve had and the speed with which my questions (how ever stupid!) have been answered. Cheers Nick, much appreciated.

Having finally made up my mind to create a website for myself I then chose and purchased the domain name markboston.co.uk …seeing as my name is Mark Boston I thought it was a good find! Big thanks to Andy Harris for hosting it for me and for guiding me in the direction of WordPress. At present part of my daily job is to create the graphic design / artwork for websites, but this was going to be my first foray into the html/php/css world of building a website. So with that in mind WordPress seemed a good starting point for me. Founded in 2003 it has grown to become the world’s favourite Content Management System (CMS) tool. Believe in the power of WordPress!
